Interior design Bachelor's project for a multi-level apartment in a simplified building conversion at Dubultu prospekts 101
This is one of the few loft apartments in cities latest building conversion project called 'Jūras skati'. Under the guidance of professional architects, planners and designers, several modern apartments will replace the previously existing hotel premises
Apartment (92.35m2) is built on modern design basis, respecting the decorative style of the historic city and its abundant nature. Conceptual interior project contains of two fully furnished levels with entrance, bathroom, kitchen, dinning and living room and private terrace on the first floor, and home office, bedroom and second bathroom on the second floor. The core of the apartment is natural colors and materials, like light grays and wood. Its accents are bright contrasting colors, like deep blue, forest green and rusty red, and geometric shapes, like arches, circles and different angular shapes
By replacing previous building, it was important for designer to include special accents from the architectural details of Jurmala into the new space, because in design as well as in life itself one principle cannot be forgotten- something new can be built by respecting what once came before...
